  • Prescription Lenses are reidiculously expensive and TERRIBLE quality

I paid an ENORMOUS amount of money expecting my Maui Jim polycarbonate polarized lenses to be durable, comfortable and a good investment. I couldn't be more disappointed. I have never owned a pair of glasses that scratched so easily and performed so poorly. Theses are VERY high end sport fishing glasses with all of the available treatments. Even though I have been very careful with them, they are scratched beyond anything I've seen before, the steam-up constantly, and the lenses pop-out far too easily. I expected more from such an expensive product. And, forget about getting... More...

  • Maui Jim repair

Sent in a pair of glasses to have lens put back in and to see if they could address peeling on inside of frames. Glasses came back in with lens in and NO mention of peeling. Also, when they put the lens back a bigger section inside the glasses came off - which make them look crappy because you can see that when looking at the glasses. I would have been willing to pay for them to fix it since I now can't use these glasses. I will NEVER buy Maui Jim's again because of poor service. More...

I, like sooo many others are very disappointed with Maui Jims customer service. When you spend $300.00 for a pair, one would expect a little customer service, wrong!!. Had them about 10 months and a nut came off the lens holder. 10 bucks plus shipping to have them fixed. 1 year later the same nut falls off and they want to charge the same. it's not the money it's more the principle of spending $300.00+ on glasses and they charge for every fix like this. I've bought $100.00 RB's that lasted way longer then these. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER PAIR OF MJ's AGAIN and you... More...

  • broken lens

I had emailed maui jim and requested lens replacement, sent the model number and requested information if they were repairable, they acknowledged my request instructed me to send them in for repair, once they received them they told me they no longer had the replacement parts. And if I wanted my glasses back I would have to pay a processing fee. I sent two emails and should have and could have been told that the glasses were no longer in stock, the customer service would not directly acknowledge my further concerns or request to return my glasses without a processing fee, they avoided any... • Bayfront Glasses

I had purchased a pair of Bayfront Maui Jim Sunglasses less than a year ago for a few of reasons, 1. my friends raved about the customer service, 2. the vision with the lenses. 3.Styles available. About 2 weeks after I bought them they fell off my head when I put them up when I was in a building...sent them to the repair center in Peoria, IL paid my $70.00 and have been completely dis-satisfied with them ever since. About every other week the lenses fall out and they require tightening up again. They are too fragile for sunglasses and poorly made for a $300.00 pair, I would love to trade... More...

  • poor service

Maui Jim used to have good service, what happened???? Been buying these sunglasses for 20 years, bought a pair 1 month ago, bumped into a car door and put a small crack in the lens. Lahaina office very rude, soory $60.00 to fix, what a joke. Never will go there again. Can't wait to inform the many hotel and marketing people on maui about the new joke. More...

  • Poor Customer Service

The Maui Jim sunglasses model that I purchased had a manufacturing defect where the screw cracked the lenses. Maui Jim replaced the sunglasses (I paid shipping costs). After a year, the same thing happened again. More shipping costs and another pair was returned to me. Problem: the lenses on the sunglasses returned to me are rose-colored, not the gray ones I sent in to be replaced. Because their computer system insists that I am wrong, Maui Jim will do nothing but agree to change out the lenses for $60. I told the repair technician that they could check the lenses from the glasses I... More...

  • Pali 352-23 Sunglasses

Very disappointed in the product - purchased them on 5-14-08 and on 5-28-08 the left screw came out - was not able to take them back to the dealer because I was on vacation for 2 weeks - took them back to the dealer where I bought them from on 6-9-08 and it took a week to get replacement screws from Maui Jim. The dealer repaired them the same day and I picked them up on 6-16-08 and on 6-21-08 the right screw came out. I paid $309 for these glasses not including tax and feel like I am getting the runaround. The dealer where I purchased them from is being as helpful as they can, but I feel... More...

They tried - I will give them credit for that. I purchased very expensive sun glasses ... and they broke. I treated them well. They were much more fragile than I was lead to believe. Nordstrom, Lands End, The North Face and many more stores will repair/replace a defective item. Maui Jim would not. After a series of phone calls they fixed the sun glasses. Cost $70.00 I feel like I over paid for the sun glasses ... then over paid for repair. The sun glasses were marketed as 'sport glasses', yet, in my opinion they were a fragile product with fundamental design flaws. More...

the temple broke twice and I was charged $70.00 to repair. Why are these so weak. They told me at the optometrist that they were made of titanium. It sure breaks easily and I put them on exactly as instructed. I would never buy these overpriced glasses again.

I am very unhappy with Maui Jem. I purchased from them because I thought they were know for customer service. Now, they are far worse than my experience with other brands like Ray Ban. My Maui Jem's were defective. I had to have them fixed 5 times, paying 10 dollars plus shipping each time. Now, they just broke again. Last time, Maui would only allow 75 dollars off a new pair or to keep fixing them. I sent them a pic, showing the frame has a small bend, which is causing the problem. They refuse to acknowledge and will not change their offer. the glasses were 300 dollars and defective. 75 dollars back is a joke. Will never buy a thing from them again.
